In the past, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) was a wired surveillance camera system in which video cameras playback was viewed on an individual monitor. Modern CCTV systems allow the simultaneous monitoring and recording of multiple video feeds to a local DVR via data cable or internal SD card.
