Winter Decoration Ideas

The holiday season is finally upon us, which means family, friends, gifts, and lots of filling foods! Here are some great places to start getting your home decorated for family and friend gatherings. If you don’t practice any religious holidays but want to join in the festivities, add these winter-themed decorations to existing yard/porch decorations.

Wreaths

are an easy start for home decorations. Simply put a nail in the front door or siding for an easy setup next year. Also, consider purchasing a pack of nail-free sticky hooks to hang decorations on the windows and interior walls. Decorate it like a Christmas tree with ornaments, scented pinecones, ribbons, bows, and bells.

LED Projectors

LED projectors are an excellent shortcut that allows you to skip hours of climbing up and down ladders and hanging up other decorations.

Projectors use little energy, and with only an extension cord, they light up the house with dazzling lights that can be controlled from your smartphone.

‘Multi-color’ LED projectors are versatile decorations that can be used year-round for all holidays and occasions.

LED Icicles

Icicles are a nice twist on old-fashioned string lights that look amazing under eaves or scattered throughout a tree. One of our favorite trends is wrapping the trunk and main branches and hanging a few icicles. While this takes some work and a little risk, the payout is huge. Trees wrapped up in lights are spectacles that can be appreciated up close and down the street.

String lights

Classic. Simple. Effective. Beautiful. Run string lights along the eaves, around doorways & windows, up & around tree trunks, bushes, mailboxes, and anywhere you can think. Many homeowners opt to use string lights to brighten up walkways year-round.

Many string lights will come with standard bulbs, but keep your eyes peeled for some with snowflake diffusers that will rotate and swing in the breeze.

Inflatables

On par with projectors, inflatables are among the quickest and easiest yard decorations. Pick a spot, unfold, plugin, and watch them come to life. Make sure and stake them down in case strong winds blow and try to whisk them away.
